Saeed Ghani Haul

I am always tempted to visit Saeed Ghani shops as all their products are herbal and safe for all skin types. I was eyeing their sandalwood range for a couple of days and today I decided to visit one of their outlets. I went to the one at Makro, Link Road, Lahore.

I got the Sandal Soap as I have heard about the benefits of sandal for our skin.

I also got the Khas Sandal Ubtan. The packaging looked really good. They have quite a number of ubtans to choose from like the Whitening Ubtan, Khas Sandal Ubtan, Zafrani Ubtan etc. It was difficult for me to choose but I opted for sandal again. The packet is zip locked to retain the freshness of ubtan.

Since Ubtan is supposed to be mixed in rose water so I got their bottle of rose water as well. I personally love rose water. I keep it in my refrigerator and spray it on my face. It's very refreshing and I love it. Also the Saeed Ghani's rose water comes in a spray bottle so it's very convenient to use.

I am facing the issue of cracked heels these days. Thanks to my bad habit of walking bare feet in my house, it has resulted in cracked heels so I got their Heel Krack Cream to treat my feet so that I can have my soft feet back before eid *FINGERS CROSSED*

Since I was out of my kajal pencil so I made a quick stop at Roop Singhar, Wapda Town and bought Maybelline Colossal Kajal yet again. I love this kajal, it doesn't smudge but it disappears from my waterline after few hours so I keep it in my bag for touch ups.

This is it for today. Now lets talk about the prices.
Sandal Soap Rs. 140
Khas Sandal Ubtan Rs. 200
Heel Krack Cream Rs. 250
Rose Water Rs. 75
Maybelline Collosal Kajal Rs. 350

I hope you'll like my haul. I will review these products after using them for a while.

My Skin Care Routine

I am not one of those lucky girls who keep flaunting their beautiful, hydrated skin all the time. I have always struggled through skin issues. I suffered from acne in my teenage which luckily got cured on their own but acne hit me again after few years and this time, they were here to stay. I tried all the over the counter products but to no avail. I had to consult a dermatologist. After the treatment, my acne got under control but now I had to struggle with the nasty scars that acne left behind. I got quite many laser sessions to treat the acne scars and fortunately I saw 90 percent improvement.
Now I am very careful about my skin as I have sensitive skin and I can't use all the creams available in the market as not all of them suit my sensitive skin. So now I am going to discuss my skin routine with you.
In the morning time, I wash my face with Garnier Light facewash. It cleanses my skin deeply and keeps it oil free.

Then I apply my Oriflame Love Nature Aloevera face toner or The Body Shop Vitamin E Toner. They keep my skin hydrated and fresh.

Next step is moisturising. I highly recommend this step. Many people with oily skin tend to leave this step thinking that it will make your face oily. This is a myth and we are supposed to keep our skin moisturised as the face washes and soaps dry our skin. I use Oriflame Essentials Moisturising Day cream. It has suited to my skin well and I love using it. I will write a detailed review about this cream. Then if I am going out, I apply my bb cream after moisturising my face and then continue with the regular makeup.

I strongly advocate getting rid of all the traces of makeup before going to sleep. It is a very very vital step so never ever sleep with makeup on your skin. I used to think that by washing my face, I have gotten rid of makeup which is so not true. Always use a good makeup remover to get rid of all your makeup. I use Johnsons refreshing cleansing lotion followed by washing my face with the facewash.

Then I apply toner after washing my face and let it dry. The next step is moisturising. I use Oriflame Essentials Nourishing Night Cream and I wake up with baby smooth skin.

I also scrub my face twice a week as too much scrubbing is harsh for the skin. Nowadays I am using Freeman Facial Exfoliating Scrub Grapefruit.

Whenever I scrub my face, I end up my routine by applying facemasks. I use Freeman Pomegranate Peel off mask, Freeman Clay Mask with Mint and Lemon or Oriflame Oxygen Boost Mask. I use any one of the above mentioned which ever I feel like applying at that particular time.

I rarely get pimples now but when I do, I either apply bodyshop tea tree oil or sudocreme or clinagel. These three are the most effective treatments for me.

So there you go ladies, this is my skin care routine. Share yours too in the comments. I would love to read about it.

Medora in Gypsy Rose Review

I was never a fan of red lippie. Even on my BIG DAY, I opted for a copper shade lipstick. I was afraid of trying a bold look by applying red colour but now I have overcome this fear and now I am totally in love with good red colour lipsticks. I did not want to waste my money by buying a high end brand lippie and then repenting over it as I had no idea if red would even suit me or not so i decided to dig in our local market and got a decent red colour in one of the oldest and renowned brands, Medora.

Claims:

Medora is a local brand and it has a huge range of lipsticks to choose from. This particular shade is called GYPSY ROSE and its number is 222. It is from their matte range.

My thoughts:

The medora lipstick I got is Gypsy rose. Its a beautiful deep red colour. When I applied it for the first time, I got huge compliments from everyone as the red colour suited me well. It is very pigmented and it has good staying power. The downfall of this lippie is that it is not moisturising, in fact, if applied alone, it makes my lips dry. So I always make sure to apply lip balm before applying this lipstick.

Its smell and taste is a little too much for me but I tend to ignore it and after a while, either the taste and smell disappears or you get kinda used to it so it doesn't bother you much.

Swatch:

Reasons for liking it:

  • Good pigmentation
  • A wide range of colours to choose from
  • Very economical
  • Easily available
  • Good staying power

Reasons for not liking it:

  • The smell and taste is too much for you
  • If you don't use lip balm underneath it, it makes your lips dry

Price and Availability:

I got it for Rs. 110 from Victoria Departmental Store, Lahore.

Rating:

I would rate it 3.5/5

Would I buy it again?

Yes because I really like this particular shade of Red.

Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Review

I was captivated by the hype of Maybelline lips a little later than other people, but now that I have started using it, I am in love with this product. Keep reading for a detailed review.

Claims:

Maybelline Baby Lips Electro claims that it is not just a basic Lip Balm. It provides 8HR Hydration with a Neon Kick. It has Electric colour pigments in exclusive lip renew formula. It is available in 6 New Tinted Shades. It protects and moisturises lips for a full 8 hours.

My thoughts:

I bought Maybelline Baby Lips in the shade OH! ORANGE! I am totally in love with orangish things, be it lipsticks, nailcolors, lip balms, shoes or clothes, ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK AT LEAST FOR ME. It is quite evident from the shade name that this particular shade has an orange tint. It’s not very bright though, just the usual tinted lip balm with a hint of orange.

It smells incredible just like fruitella in orange flavour. The orange smell is very sweet and not at all overpowering. Now coming to the hydration part, I think it does what it claims. I have not witnessed dry lips since I have started using it. I have been using baby lips since past 3 or 4 months and never have I complained about having dry lips. It actually hydrates lips perfectly and makes them soft and smooth.

I use it before applying lipstick and my lipstick glides on very smoothly and my lips looks subtle and gorgeous. I would definitely recommend it to all.

Swatch:

Reasons for liking it:

  • Smooth and soft lips
  • Tinted color
  • Sweet fragrance
  • Very cute packaging

·     Reasons for not liking it:

  • You might not like it if you are looking for a lip balm with more pigmentation.

Price and Availability:

I got it for Rs. 350 from Roop Singhar, Lahore. I would suggest that you buy Maybelline BabyLips from a genuine shop. I have seen a lot of fake baby lips in the market recently. You don’t want to take a risk here.

Rating:

I would rate it 4.5/5.

Would I buy it again? :

Yes I would definitely buy it again and again.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream Review

Whenever I enter a beauty/cosmetic shop, I start drooling over all the shiny polished products stocked in the shop. I get this uncontrollable urge that even when I do not need to buy anything, , I just end up buying more and more. Crazy, right? I know but I can’t help it. I feel suicidal if I came out of a cosmetic store without buying anything (yes I am a bit dramatic and now you are asking me “A BIT”? okay okay, I am VERY dramatic). Let me tell you that I have a bunch of foundations and bb creams and yet I keep buying more and more. So I decided this month that I won’t waste my money on things which I don’t need at all but then again, I was so wrong and I ended up buying Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream.

Claims:

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream claims that it is an instant skin perfection cream. It is 8 in 1 beauty balm. It blurs imperfections, brighten, evens skin tone, smoothes, hydrates, enhances, protects with SPF 30 and 0% oils and heavy ingredients.

My thoughts:

I got this BB cream in light shade which is a perfect match for my skin. It is made in France and comes in a 30ml tube.

I love its cute packaging and it’s also very handy to carry in your bag. I like the fact that it is neither very thin that it becomes difficult to manage nor very thick. It has the perfect smooth texture and it blends very effortlessly. Now the question is does it brighten up my complexion? Yes it does and that too, in a very natural way (BTW I hate artificial cakey looks) I like how it illuminates my face without being cakey and heavy. In fact it has a very light weight formula. It has a very pleasant fragrance unlike garnier which smells medicinal.

Now does it conceals my post acne marks? Yes it does, but only to an extent. I have very minimal post acne marks and they are easily concealed by this bb cream but those of you with bad scarring and redness might not find it very useful as it gives a light coverage.

Reasons for liking it:

  • Easy on pocket
  • Easily available
  • Illuminates skin
  • Does not clog pores as its very light and so no breakouts.

Reasons for not liking it:

  • Does not conceal scarring perfectly.
  • Light coverage (if you are a fan of medium to full coverage, this product is not for you)

Price and Availability:

I don't remember exactly but it was around Rs. 550 I guess and I bought it from Roop Singhar, Lahore.

Rating:

I would rate it 4/5

Would I buy it again?

Yes I will do as I am a fan of sheer coverage.

Oriflame's Acai and Pomegranate Night cream Review

I have been reading many posts about this cream on various blogs. I recently joined Oriflame and so went to their office for getting myself some makeup and skincare products. One product that I have been eyeing from quite much time was their Acai and Pomegranate Night Cream.

Claims:

Rich-textured night cream containing organic extracts of Acai Berry and Pomegranate. It softens and moisturises your skin while it rests, leaving it smooth and supple in the morning.

My thoughts:

Well honestly, the first thing that attracted me the most about this cream was its packing and colour and of course the thought that OH WOW, IT HAS POMEGRANATE IN IT.I mean I remember my mom telling me when I was a kid to eat pomegranate and I will eventually have a fairer complexion and rosy cheeks.

This was the trick she used to get me to eat pomegranates and till date I love eating the red pomegranate. I have absolutely no idea if they did anything to my complexion as I was luckily fair by birth. Anyways aside from my love for pomegranates, I was talking about the fact that why I bought this cream. It was because I thought it would make me fairer and fresh. Although it doesn't say anything about giving a fair complexion.

The name of this cream is Oriflame pure nature Acai and Pomegranate Antioxidant Night Cream. It comes in a 75 ml jar of maroonish red colour. It looks really cute. When I opened the lid, there was another silver layer and after that, there was this smooth baby pink cream. Its fragrance is DIVINE. I love fruity smells. Its fragrance reminded me of fruitella. Yes, the chewy sweet we all used to have when we were kids.

I started using this cream religiously. I also bought the pure nature Acai and Pomegranate facewash, I will review that later. Anyways my regimen for the last month was that I used to wash my face with that facewash, patted my face dry and then applied pea sized cream to my face and neck before going to sleep. It made my skin super soft instantly. The best part about this cream is that It moisturises skin without making it look or feel oily and greasy.

I am totally in love with this cream. I love its smell, appearance, the effect it leaves on my skin, in short everything about it. I am definitely going to buy it again.

Reasons for liking it:

  • Smells great
  • Attractive jar
  • makes skin smooth and soft
  • not very oily but still not suitable for oily skin.
  • doesn't make you break out.

Reasons for not liking it:

  • you might not like it if you have oily skin.

Price and Aavailability:

Its actual price is Rs. 899 but being an oriflame consultant, I got it for Rs.719 from the Oriflame head office, Lahore.

Rating:

I would rate it 4.5/5

Would I buy it again:

Yes but in winters, as I have oily skin in Summers and it won't be suitable for me then.
